More Trees on the sTREEts

Yesterday, the Parks Department and the Dragonetti Brothers transplanted new trees along 8th Avenue and also improved some of the existing trees by enlarging the tree pit opening and mulching it. New trees include the London Plane, Serviceberry, Honeylocust, Ironwood, Goldenrain tree, Tree Lilac, Hawthorn, and Linden as part of the Million Trees Program.

Concrete Planters

There aren't many planters along 8th Avenue nor are they pretty. The ones at 60th Street are more attractive than the ones at 39th Street. Last year there weren't any nice plants in planters in either locations but this year it appears someone has been caring for them.

Row of Trees

When I first saw this row of London Plane trees I was surprised that they are only spaced about 10 feet apart.

New Building

I have to give credit to the designer and owner of this new building. Unlike other blunt new buildings that are popping up in the neighborhood this one has more design and feeling to it.

Preserved Fish

This flyer posted on a utility pole caught my eyes. Unlike the other 98% of for-rent flyers posted along 8th Avenue, someone is offering to sell preserved fish.

Ash Tree

According to a witness, a truck drove down the parking lane and knocked down this large branch.
